Goodbye 2005

It’s the end of another year for Vesess and we’d like to spend a few moments remembering the people and events that changed 2005 for us. The December 2004 Tsunami affected all of Sri Lanka, and in the days that followed, Vesess came forward to develop and deploy Aid Sri Lanka, a site that gave people all over the world easy information on ways that they could help. We later went on to design and develop a free website for the National Heroes Foundation which was heavily involved in post Tsunami reconstruction.
Moving forward in a disaster battered country and economy is not an easy task, but Vesess progressed steadily throughout the year, arriving today at many if not all of the goals we had set for ourselves. We’re proud of what we have done so far, and we’re sure that our collective skills will only carry us further in the new year. We have some plans for Nidahas as well, which we’ll probably roll out sometime in the next few weeks.
Recalling the past year would not be complete without a shout out to Dulan and Jagath, who have left us to pursue other interests. They were with Vesess throughout the year and gave selflessly to see projects delivered on time. The duo were great examples of what has now almost become an unofficial Vesess motto - client first. They sacrificed sleep, studies and inter human relationships on numerous occasions in order to see a perfect product. We salute them.
Of course, we would not be anywhere without people who need our services. We’d thus like to take a moment to thank all our clients for trusting us with their websites. We hope we’ve done a good job, and know that you know that we’re always here to help, from pixels to prose, coding to content (thanks ALA!).
Speaking of ALA, there are a few stellar designers out there who have repeatedly taken time to read and comment (and even make posts) on our writing. Thanks Kevin, John, James and Mat for listening, and participating in our discussions. We value your input, as designers, bloggers, and indeed, as members of the digital literati. We hope to keep you hooked with more great content in 2005.
All in all, 2005 has been a great year, and we’re sure 2006 is going to be even better. As a company and as Sri Lankans we hope that the new year will be a peaceful and prosperous one for our country and the world at large. Peace and love to everyone!

Oi! You daft bugger, I haven’t…
Weren’t you paying attention? :p
But it’s true I won’t be able to put my fullest efforts into helping Vesess achieve its true calling, but I’ll be damned if you lot can get rid o’ me that easily. :)
I’ll be around.
Be afraid. Be Very Afraid.
Happy New 2006 everybody!
